Use the handover requirements to define the work
If your landlord, property manager, or buyer has provided a cleaning checklist, share it before booking. It is more useful than a general request to clean everything and gives the appointment a clear set of priorities.
Describe the kitchen, bathrooms, floors, and any areas with significant buildup. Interior cabinets and appliance cleaning should be requested and confirmed explicitly. A checklist helps define the agreed scope, but cleaning cannot determine a landlord's inspection decision or guarantee the return of a deposit.
Schedule after the belongings leave
An empty property makes floors and surfaces easier to access. Plan around the actual completion of moving, not just the start of the moving truck's arrival window. Include time for any other work that will happen before the handover.
If belongings remain, tell us which rooms are clear and what must stay in place. Leftover furniture, abandoned items, excess rubbish, and property damage may need separate arrangements. Do not assume a cleaning appointment includes hauling or repairs.
Provide a useful picture of the condition
Recent photos can show food residue, heavy floor traffic, pet hair, or other concerns that affect the estimate. Include any inspection deadline and say whether the owner or manager needs to be contacted about access.
- Share the move completion and key-return dates.
- Provide the written cleaning checklist if available.
- Confirm empty access to requested cabinet and appliance interiors.
- List carpet cleaning and window cleaning as separate requests.
- Explain parking, lockbox, gate, or building entry instructions.
Finish with a clear appointment agreement
The estimate should reflect the selected tasks, home size, access, and actual condition. Availability and travel are confirmed by location. If the property changes after your request or moving runs late, communicate before the visit so the schedule and scope can be reviewed.
Questions about your cleaning
No. Deposit decisions can involve the lease, damage, unpaid charges, and the landlord's assessment. Share the cleaning requirements so the visit can address the agreed cleaning work.
